Building a Strong Ballet Foundation
Our ballet syllabus at Inland Northwest Ballet is thoughtfully crafted to provide a comprehensive and methodical approach to classical ballet training. From the very first class, students are introduced to the fundamental elements of ballet, with each lesson building upon the last to ensure a deep understanding and mastery of technique. The curriculum is designed not only to teach specific movements and exercises but also to cultivate a strong sense of discipline, dedication, and artistry in each dancer.

Every class is carefully structured to offer a balance of challenge and achievement, providing students with opportunities to push their limits while celebrating their progress. This approach fosters both confidence and skill, laying a solid foundation that supports their advancement to higher levels of ballet. As students move through the syllabus, they encounter increasingly complex exercises that further develop their strength, flexibility, balance, and musicality. Our progressive training ensures that dancers are well-prepared for the more demanding aspects of ballet, such as pointe work, while also nurturing their ability to express themselves creatively on stage.
Opportunities for Boys and Scholarships In Ballet
At Inland Northwest Ballet, we believe in providing opportunities for all dancers to thrive. We offer scholarships for boys ages 7 and up, encouraging young male dancers to pursue their passion for ballet without financial barriers.
Boys' Training and Scholarships
Our boys’ training is integrated into our classical ballet syllabus, with a focus on building strength, agility, and technical precision. We recognize the importance of supporting young male dancers, and our scholarship program is designed to make ballet accessible to all who are interested.
Inclusive and Supportive Environment
We foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where every dancer, regardless of gender, can feel confident and supported in their ballet journey. Our goal is to create a space where all students can excel and enjoy the art of dance.
Building a Strong Ballet Foundation
Our ballet syllabus is thoughtfully designed to guide students through the essential elements of classical ballet. Each class is carefully structured to provide a balance of challenge and achievement, ensuring that students build a strong foundation in ballet that will serve them as they progress to higher levels.
Traditional Ballet Training
Students will engage in classical ballet exercises at the barre and in the center, focusing on developing grace, balance, and strength. Each level of our syllabus builds on the previous one, creating a seamless progression that challenges students while celebrating their achievements.
Musicality and Expression
Beyond technique, our classes emphasize musicality and the ability to express oneself through movement. Students learn to connect with the music and convey emotion on stage, making their performances both technically strong and artistically compelling.
Pointe Work Preparation
For students who are ready, pointe work is an exciting milestone in their ballet journey. We assess each dancer individually to ensure they have the necessary strength and maturity before beginning pointe work, typically around ages 11 or 12 after several years of consistent training.
